Emergency FAQ

Common questions
during a dental crisis

Still not sure what to do? Call us at 312-573-0007 and we'll advise you over the phone.

What if I call and you're closed?
If you are calling outside of office hours and are in severe pain, go to your nearest hospital emergency room. For after-hours dental emergencies, the ER can manage pain and prescribe antibiotics until we can see you.
What if my tooth gets knocked out?
Pick it up by the crown (white part), not the root. Gently rinse with clean water โ€” do not scrub. Try to place it back in the socket. If not possible, keep it moist in milk or your own saliva. Call us immediately โ€” time is critical for re-implantation.
Is a dental emergency covered by insurance?
Most dental insurance plans cover emergency exams, at least in part. Call us at 312-573-0007 and we'll verify your coverage before your visit. If you're uninsured, we'll discuss payment options โ€” emergencies are no time to worry about billing.
How quickly can I be seen?
We do our best to accommodate same-day emergency appointments during office hours. Call as early in the day as possible. We will always prioritise patients in severe pain.
